Hello we are looking to replace our badly worn and beat up Ryko Friction Unit with a True Touch Free (no hub scrub) we are leaning towards a LW360 with the Lighting package flash dry and waterfall & the fact it will wash dullys. Does anyone have any advise on these units dependability? Does the light show help sells? Does the waterfall also help? Any advise will be truly appreciated...

Love my LW360, low maint, normal stuff wears over time, can’t avoid it. Washes great, really like the configurability of adjusting the speed, etc. the lava flow option looks awesome, customers love it.

There suggestion I use hot water for the rinse cycle. We have already got in the agreement the setup for heated soap and wax. Do you have heated water?

Ya, all in all I'm a fan of the 360. We've got 4 of them. Would not recommend flash dry or even integrated dryers though. It really slows you down and the flash dry ends up dripping during the drying cycle because it blows onto the bridge which then drips on the car on the second dry pass back to the front.

Other than that I highly recommend it. Can customize washes easily and can wash duallys without issue.

Are they going to pay to heat all that water? Not to mention how big (expensive) of a boiler you would need. I would like to hear the reasoning behind that.
The Rudy's BBQ franchises have automatics at some of their locations (They're also a C-store and gas station). They heat all the water for their touch-free units with electric heaters.

No, do not heat your water. It might be useful in the snow belt but not here. Spend the money on better presoak.

Any reason you're getting away from friction?

Flash dry - don't use it, confuses the customers as they think something is wrong so you'll end up fielding lots of calls.

Integrated dryer - I have them, but wouldn't do it again, I'd do stand alone dryer on the outside of the building. Too many drips from things after a wash.

Heated rinse? - That's been discussed here on the forum a few times. Many of us do not understand what purpose that would serve. Heat helps chemicals work better, but I do not see how heated rinse would make anything better other than the banks of the utility companies. I don't heat my rinse, just anything that has chemical application gets heated.

As a general rule, I don't usually take much car wash advice from the local barbecue joint. On the flip side, they don't usually come to me for seasoning advice either...:D

I will say they always have lines at both their car washes and their food counters.

I only mentioned it because their electric bill must be a fortune.

The reason were getting away from friction is one our machine is very tired two I personally want to offer a true touch free we have had several customers ask for it. There are no touch free machines within 20 miles of my location only 1 tunnel 8 miles away.
