SW Indiana melon fields.
That's too broad of a question. I just had a new Mark VII friction machine installed for about 112K. This was replacing an existing machine, so we didn't need a lot of the things that would accompany a new install (dryer, doors, heat, paystation, etc.), which could easily add another 50K or so.

If you have to ask, you can't afford it. Also, it's in the post you quoted.
does it hurt to ask retail price? im sure every machine is set at a different price. also he said 112k installed. not the actual price of the machines. can i afford it? who knows

Whoa, this is ripe for comment. First, to I.B., Mark 7 is playing fast and loose with their pricing. They have underbid me by $40,000 on several bids I put out for basically the same machine. Here in Florida they are trying to buy the market. Sooner or later they are going to run out of money. Now to Mr coo. First off you are looking at probably the most expensive equipment out there. I am still amazed that PDQ gets so much money from an inverted L machine. Anyway back to basics. Does your location have enough water and electrical capacity for this? You will need at least another 100 amp, three phase capacity for any touchless, maybe 150 amp. What size is your water supply and backflow preventer? If you need to upgrade that can be thousands. You will also need some type of entry system. You can buy used Wash Select 2s for 5 grand, but many of the newer units with touchscreen interfaces can go north of 30 grand pretty easily. Freight, installation, and the good old state sales tax can add 25 grand to the final bill. Does the wash have adequate space for this? You will most likely need doors being up north. My guess is that being new to the business, a salesman got ahold of you and showed you how rich he was going to make you with his machine. The first thing a new person to this should do is place his or her wallet in the back pocket and sit down. You need to talk to as many suppliers as you can, then post your results here for peer review. Hey, and that part is free !
