Please recommend pulleys

I saved the old pulleys that came off the old pumps and motors I am rehabbing. I put them back on the new pumps and motors and they vibrate very bad. I can see some wobble in the old pulleys. What kind of pulleys do you recommend on both motor and pumps on a cat 310.

I don't care about brand, as they are just made of steel. I prefer using QD bushings and sheaves. By design, they pretty much always come off when you want them to.

I've always used the Cat pulleys as they're relatively cheap. For a 310 it's an 8" pulley that will go with a 4" motor pulley. I do like 2 piece motor pulleys but I put a bit of anti-seize on the shaft when I use a single piece pulley and never have trouble getting them back off. It helps that I have a large, good quality puller.

There's a chance your old pulleys are the wrong size for your new pumps. What ones did you take off?

Just to give you a heads from our pulley experience. To Specialty Equip's credit they made their Cat 310 with belts version setups with the lightest weight wise double belted pulleys. No heavy hubs! I could be wrong ... but I think that helped with avoiding extra stress on the Cat 310 bearings. The bad news they for their convenience ordered the pumps with a shaft sticking out only on the right or left side. That made it so swapping out the pumps in a new position no longer align with the top motor pulley ... ugh!

Specialty Equipment had some of the worst car wash equipment ever made.

Considering the tension on the belt, I doubt the weight of the pulley has any relevance to the stress on the bearings. The weight of the entire pump would not be enough to keep the belt from slipping.
