New decals on a Winter Wizard 2.0 Gantry w/photo link

A few months ago, I ripped off the stock WW 2.0 gantry decals and replaced. The machine was 7 years old, and full of neglect from the previous owner on the stainless. Plus the look was dated. I wasn't sure if this was going to work, but it did. I thought I'd share if anyone has been thinking about this or is on the fence. A local sign company did some final measurements, printed and installed for $850.

I thought I'd share if anyone was on the fence. Interestingly, a few people have commented that we got a "new machine". So I think it's been a worthy upgrade if I got a new $100k machine for $850

How did they prep the machine to receive the decal ? That looks great. I would just be worried about it staying adhered to the machine.

That hasn't been a problem. The decal doesn't absorb water. The machine is stainless steel, and the hardest part was removing the stickers with goof off, etc. It's no different than a vacuum sticker -- those adhere well, and get wet from being outside.

Good point, now I get it. The old gantry decals were there for 7 years and never came off. They didn't discolor. In fact, it would be more likely to come off, because it was a wavy pattern that had 80% stainless, and only 20% coverage with a lot of seams, where the new one has 2. The old material was vinyl, new material is vinyl. The difference tho, to your point is that the writing is printed on top where the old one wasn't. However, I have signs in the auto bay with the same writing and the same if not more presoak exposure that are about 15 months old with writing that hasn't worn off.

But ask me in 3 years, I guess lol.

Vacs are not subjected to presoak.

They are when they're in front of the bays. It makes them easy to wipe down because they're already soapy. (I've never had an issue with car wash soaps bothering vinyl decals.)
