We are installing Cryptopay on two combo vacs with Dixmor LED9 multi-function timers. Cryptopay says the only way to get it to work somewhat properly is in count down mode. They also say that the button should be made dormant in the swiper setup by indicating $ .00 per button press and the seconds per coin should be set for the most expensive function. It looks like count up won't work unless we are willing to have the same seconds per quarter on every function. The two motor vac price is 45 seconds per quarter and the fragrance is 15 seconds per quarter so that is a pretty big spread. On count up if we set it up so the swiper is active for the least expensive function and the person only uses the most expensive then it is possible they could drive off and someone could push the button and add time with the previous person's card. How do you guys have yours set up?

The LED9 should work as a multi-function multi-time timer in count-up mode with Cryptopay. I don't know how it's done but I'll ask around.

You can use the button to add time in count-down mode instead of disabling it. The way it works is that the button stays enabled to add time until the timer runs out, or the customer needs to press and hold the button to end the transaction. If you're just going to go "swipe for credit" they have a swiper with no button.

The problem with count up is that each selection is a different price per minute. The issue with enabling the button on count up is that in the the swiper settings the seconds per coin only lets the swiper stay active for the same amount of time as one of the price points.

What do you have set for seconds per coin on the swiper setup? Is the swiper active the same time as the timer no matter which function you choose?

Yes. You need to configure each swiper online (easy). I set my price at $2 COUNT DOWN for the vacs with a max charge per swipe of $5. $2 = 5 minutes, each push of the button adds $1 of time. On the vacs the various LED9 functions A-F for two motor, three motor, fragrance 1-3 each has a value per quarter. The LED9 can convert the time remaining on the fly as the customer changes functions. Just printout the 2 pages for programming the LED9 and it walks you through the process.

We already configured the swiper online and the timer has been programmed correctly. $2.00 to start with cash or card.

45 sec per quarter for two motor vac
38 sec per quarter for turbo vac
30 sec per quarter for shampoo/spot
45 sec per quarter for tire inflator
15 sec per quarter for fragrance

I just now logged into Cryptopay to make sure I'm using the correct terminology they use to ask about about the specifics. Based on the info you gave me I see how yours is configured except the rate. What is yours set to and based on our prices what should ours be set to? I believe that is related to the time the swiper is active.

We use similar numbers for the LED9 except we do not have the tire. Our separate air machine is free as a local service since many gas stations in the area provide free air. Customers seem to appreciate the free service. Online we program the cryptopay 25cents/35sec as if it is for the turbo vac, everything else falls into place. The Button is programmed for 4 pulses per push.

Okay. Great. If someone swipes a card for $2 and uses only fragrance @15 seconds per quarter then does your swiper not stay active for an extra 2 1/2 minutes after the timer stops? Maybe I need to play around with some settings but that is what it looked like ours did.

On a side note the Cryptopay installation says to hook one red/green wire to pin 8 (CC input) and one red/green to pin 6 (common). This did not work properly and so we moved the one on pin 6 over to pin 1 (coin common) to get it to work.

Correct, you're not using the serial CC communication, you're just sending coin pulses.

I talked to the guy who said he was going to use Cryptopay and an LED9 in count-up, and he had no idea what I was asking him. Unfortunately he had a head injury in a car crash since I last talked to him.

Since both Cryptopay and the LED9 were designed by the same people then you would think they would have figured out how to get it to charge count up properly.

Yes, no issue. LED9 knows that fragrance is at a higher cost and adjusts the time properly.
