Replacing touchless autobay equipment

Pros: Never heard of anyone that is not satisfied. Customer support is great. Modern, flexible and very programmable machine that can maximize the various chemicals and light shows that are on the market now. Creates a very open, clean look in the bay. Lots of upgrades for the owner to add on if they wish.
Cons: (not really a con, but something to consider). It uses an inverted “L” design that although is proven, is not cutting edge in terms of impact (uses wider fan spray nozzles instead of higher impact nozzles) or speed (the design only washes one side at a time) on the functions that use the main arm, like presoak, high pressure and possibly other functions , depending how you set it up.
It’s a great machine. Just look at and consider all options before you buy.

I've got a Washworld Razor and a Washtec. I'm just about to kick the Washtec out and replace it with another WW. It's a simple machine compared to the Washtec. What I don't like is the weekly greasing and then have the grease everywhere on the machine. With the Washtec there was hardly anything to do in a week, month or year. BUT...if something went wrong with the German made machine you need a rocket scientist to fix this @#$! thing.
The WW Razor is giving me some headaches at the moment and nobody so far was able to help me - even WW itself. But I guess you get that with all machines sooner or later. I will keep the forum updated if or when I eventually find the issue.

Good info. Thanks. I asked about the pm and he said it depends on volume and about every 2 weeks, less in slow seasons. He said it’s just greasing and visual checks and will only take 15 minutes. I do look forward to your issue and how it’s resolved.

Yes, it doesn't take long but we always have to remove excess grease that sits everywhere.This in turn makes working on the machine a really dirty job. Gloves on: Doing work - Gloves off: Doing some other work and back to gloves on again.
In a perfect world I would combine 90% of my Washworld's machine and 10% of my Washtec's machine.

This is great news! I am closing soon on my first ever wash. It has 2 IBAs one being the Razor and the other is PDQ 360
As I have been seeing all of these posts about Petit I was wondering if my machines will be as good as I thought they were. I have no idea what the best is but this wash is the one I have used for years and he updated from a dump in 2017. Really nice wash also has 3 SS bays and I bought the lot next door for possible future expansion. I hope I have made a good decision to purchase.

Od say if the financials were good, & you didn't overpay, you have done well. Only thing you might look @ down the road is switching 1 of those Touchless to a friction. Lots of good ones, but you may be kinda close to Oasis & their i5 is an awesome machine & fast!

The numbers are good. AS far as the price my banker says its a good deal. I still wonder if an experienced wash owner would have paid the price I am paying. When I made my offer there was another offer on the table. I didn't give full price in fact I was $200,000 less than asking. This wash has increased sales for that past several years. He hasn't been doing a loyalty program but did do the unlimited for a while. He said people were abusing it so he discontinued it. I need to figure out a loyalty program I feel that is important to have. The guy downtown runs a deal buy 4 get 2 free. My wash has Fleet programs for the police department, sheriffs department, highway patrol and part of the school district so he has done good with that.
The location is excellent with a high traffic count and convenience. Our population here is only 15,000. There is really only one other "real" competition but he is located in the downtown area which is dwindling and he only has one IBA and 4 SS bays. His wash is busy but mine is busier and has more potential.
As far as a friction wash I thought everyone was moving away from them. The guy downtown has one and everyone complains it beats their car up.
One thing I was thinking of adding is carpet shampooers or upgrade the current vacs to dual. Wasn't sure if it is a good idea or not.

Moving away from them was a fad in the 1990’s and early 2000’s but not at all now - they are safer than ever and can give an overall deeper cleaning than a touchfree. Lots of companies that were originally touchfree manufacturers only now make friction units. PDQ, washworld, Oasis etc.. And the opposite is true to, so with that, there are more options available than ever for a friction unit. You may have a guy who is in a segment where it is not well received, but that is not necessarily the norm everywhere. Just saying.
