Would you mind explaining? I'm pretty new to the chemical side.
Sure thing. The modern carnauba/hot waxes and ceramics that are applied in commercial car washes with spray arches offer incredible shine/gloss, protection, water beading, long term water repellency and leave a smooth feel on the paint and glass.
To get the maximum performance on all off these benefits, you do have to apply a certain amount product. Applying less than that amount, will still make the water break, but will not provide the longevity in protection, shine or water repellency. That is what I mean as it will be functioning as a drying agent. Drying agents typically do not have much longevity, add much shine or make the surfaces feel smooth. They are generally just there to make the water break so it can be blown off by your blowers - especially on the lower priced packages that have mo other protection products. Cutting any high end product enough (ceramic)will do just that. It will set your car up nicely to be dried, but not have the lasting effects and appearance of using it in a stronger concentration.
The way I see it, if I am charging $4-$5 for the service, I want the maximum performance out of it. Sure, I could cut my amount in half, but I know the results would not be the same, and I want my customers to see the long term results and visible shine and smoothness it creates. That’s why they purchase the service.
