Still haven’t replaced the thing, but I’ve been surprised that my gross income hasn’t gone down. Card sales way up. Maybe I don’t need to replace it? One less thing to break.
We've done new
doors for about a dozen sites over the last couple of years or so where they have completely removed their
coin acceptors. I have yet to have one say they regret it. I'm not necessarily in total agreement with them but anecdotally there is positive evidence. I don't think it's going to be a sea change in the industry but there are those out there doing it sucessfully. One I personally worked with said the same as you, his numbers weren't down and he doesn't have to collect, carry, count, and deposit a bunch of quarters and no
changer is one less thing to worry about going down. I can think of at least one that went to
credit card only recently. It's only been about a month on that one so we'll see.
