Powder Blend Systems

I am considering using a powder based alkaline presoak to better adjust the alkalinity level (pH) in order to get better cleaning performance.

What have been your experiences using the powders and what brands did you like or dislike?

Great luck with Blendco powder mix system. Been using it about 8 years. As a matter of fact I use all of their products and like them all.

Having the ability to adjust the alkalinity is pretty neat. With liquids you can increase the ammount, but not the strength. By increasing the alkalinity you can adjust it to get the results you need. Nice for times like bug or pollen eruptions.

Are you talking about using a powdered presoak or going to a system that uses a liquid combined with a alkaline powder boost?

I don't think using just powder will accomplish what you want. By the time you increase the dilution of the mix you may have problems of super saturation or not being able to put enough powder into solution to get your desired results.

You need to find a supplier that has a base product with a good show and some cleaning ability with a power boost to be able to adjust the cleaning power. Some boosts only increase the show without increasing the cleaning power. Blendco allows you to adjust both the show and strength. There are several others with a power boost system as well, including Zep CSI and EcoLab. Be sure you fully understand the system you choose or you may increase your costs without getting better results.
