Which cars don't you allow into your brush machine?

ahhh okay got it... not tryna be a smart azz at all but there are cars that have special editions like the bronco everglades and the 4 runner venture edition that come with brush guards, winches, and roof racks... could you still argue with that or no? i just thinking of worst case sceneraio in case a karen comes after me

No problem - I see what you are saying. I’d say if it is a special edition that has an accessory added to certain models at the factory, it would not be an after market item, but a factory item.

I guess the way to protect yourself the best is state in your sign that you are not responsible for any aftermarket item and - then list anything else you feel could be problematic. So, in other words, actually specify brush guards, winches - whatever you want or feel will give you a problem - factory item or not.

I have a friction tunnel and have never had a problem with the roof racks of any type.

Tow hitches - no problem. Winches and brush guards - extremely rare for us to see, but being and attended tunnel, we retract the wraps for anything questionable and have no problem.

If you get a more modern design cloth wash that looks at resistance feedback from the brushes and adjusts accordingly the problems with vehicles with accessories will be minimal. I do have a disclaimer sign that exempts non factory items but it's more for my protection really not a problem in the vast majority of circumstances. I see people go through all the times with roof racks, brush guards, etc. Just a couple of weeks ago I had someone go through the istobal with one of those huge bike racks that holds multiple bikes and the machine sensed it. It did shut down due to excessive brush torque but didn't appear to do any damage to the bike rack and reset itself once they left.

Another thing I'll say. I'm not going to obsess about the ability to wash every car on the road. I can wash 97% + of passenger vehicles passing by and wash them better than any touch free or a tunnel wash. That's more than enough to ensure success of the wash. The duallys can go elsewhere. I may have a different philosophy if I was in a rural farm community but I'm not going to worry about the few cars that are potentially problematic.

Maybe since a bronco " can come with brush guards and winches installed in factory" Use wording of something like " No aftermarket and/or optional equipment whether factory or dealer installed permitted" Vehicles can come with fender flares or not. 20 years ago they would have been aftermarket now they can be factory. Alot of previous stuff from the aftermarket world is now factory installed but is optional equipment. So basically if its not the lowest model on the line up something will be "optional" on the sticker for purchase. I used the terminology of "NON Standard equipment"
