Will a Non-Weep gun hurt a Cat Pump?

In most cases Yes they will. The water will get very hot and damage the internals of the pump. Do you have a weep type gun now? I would continue to use what I've been using.

Most likely yes, we bought non-weep mosmatic guns several years ago by accident and smoked the seals in one of our CAT 5CP2150W's within a day.

It will work as long as your bypass from the unloader valve isn't plumbed back into the inlet of the pump. if so, re route it back to the storage tank and you can use the non weep.
