PDQ LaserWash 360 Plus Dryers

Hey everyone! So I am new to the industry and recently got a car wash up and running with a brand new PDQ LaserWash 360 Plus but I am finding the dryers are not very effective. I have run a couple of my cars of various sizes through and they are all still not as dry as I was expecting. We have the MaxAir, 6-producer stand-alone (45hp) blowers. So I am wondering if anyone knows if there is anything that can be done to enhance the drying? Thanks a lot in advance!

Your water displacement chemicals (Rain-X, clear coat sealant, wax, ceramic sealant, etc.) will cause the water to bead and run off the car, allowing a better dry. I would check that first, as there isn't much that can be done for the dryers. Your distributor should be able to assist. If not enough chemical is coming out, you can increase the tip size, or if the tip is clogged, you may not be getting any chemical on the car at all.

The lower the residual pH after the wash and before the blower, the better the car will dry. If you have hi pH chemicals only and don’t neutralize it lower the pH before the blower, you will not get a car as dry as you can. Also, there is a law of diminishing returns with drying agents and sealer waxes. Using these products mixed at too high of a strength will not result in the best drying result. They need to be dialed in properly. Also, rain bars can help with moving the water off the car and creating larger droplets that get blown off easier. If you have that option on your machine for the final rinse.

That 6 producer should get you a pretty dry car. Check your chemical usage on the finishing products. Not enough chemical will not allow the water to bead enough, too much chemical will not rinse properly and will also give you issues.

Make sure your rotation is correct as well on the dryer impellers.
