Hello - I need guidance on reconfiguring a few options on my IBA for the highest price package. It is currently configured as follows:

Tire Cleaner
Nothing (Return Pass)
Triple Foam
Side Brush (Return Pass)
Top and Side Brush
Side Brush (Return Pass)
Carnauba Wax Pass
Water Droplet from the Carnauba Wax Sprayer (Return Pass)
Rinse Pass
Ceramic (Return Pass)
Clear Coat Sealant
Spot Free (Return Pass)
Blower

I plan to add another drying agent (Graphene) to this top package. However, I do not want to add another pass and increase the wash time. I plan to combine the rinse with the water droplet from the Carnauba wax sprayer, and then use one of the unused wax that comes with Ryko options for the Graphene application. I want this change to apply only to the top package and keep the existing configurations for other packages as it is.

Is it possible to configure this in the Ryko system? Any other Ideas/Thoughts?

Thank you for your help.

I know nothing about the machine but what if you just eliminated the first return pass and moved everything up one pass? That would give you the pass you need.

I would also consider just replacing the clear coat sealant pass with the proposed graphene pass. You shouldn't need both and depending on the chemicals used it could actually be counterproductive.

If you are going to apply ceramic and eventually graphene
Get rid of the Carnuba wax
It fights with the ceramic- and is a waste of money on your part.
cars will look better and DRY better!!!!

Agreeing with Greg, I would also not apply a clear coat. That is what the ceramic and graphene are for!

I did think about replacing the clear coat with graphene. This works well for the top package, but it's too expensive for the lower package. Currently, a clear coat is applied to all packages.

Additionally, my IBA (In-Bay Automatic) car wash doesn't dry the car well without a clear coat. The issue is compounded by the absence of a softener, which the seller removed. I plan to add a softener later.

I forgot to mention the high-pressure water spray after applying the tire chemical. I agree we can optimize some of these passes. I'm curious if this can be done on the Ryko system. My technician mentioned that, off the top of his head, he believes we cannot simultaneously turn on multiple options or change the sequence. He plans to do more research on this.

Do any Ryko experts have insights on this?

On a SGMX5 FX3U model, you unfortunately don't have the flexibility to change the sequences of the packages as you do on the newer machines with WashBuilder (FX5U machines). As you mentioned, if you do tire chem to the rear, you have the return pass with HP. The next step is always a mapping pass where you can include either a foam bath or trifoam. For the brush passes, you are setup for what we would call a pass and 1/2. where you have two passes from rear to front.

You can basically have opportunity for a maximum of 2 different drying agents plumbed into your machine in addition to the ColorWave finishing curtain (assuming you are calling the water droplet pass). Usually, right after the brush passes, we did a fresh water rinse to precede the premium product (RainX, Ceramic or Graphene) to allow it to seal directly on top of the surface. If additional passes such as Colorwave or other products, they would follow so you didn't have that product in the middle.

@Darin Thank you, that's what I suspected.

For my setup, I have the ColorWave (Carnauba Wax) + Finishing Curtain, followed by a Fresh Water Rinse, Ceramic, Clear Coat Sealant, and a Spot Free Water pass.

Is my only option to replace the Clear Coat Sealant with Graphene? Also, we currently don't have the Hot Wax option enabled. Can we use it, and if so, what sequence it would it will be enabled? Where can I get more information on this?

Correct, really your only option would be to replace the Clearcoat with Graphene. You wouldn't be able to add a hot wax option because you are already using the 2 drying agents it has available. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot of flexibility in the program in the older units related to expansion.

@Ryko CS How about adding the hot wax option for Graphene and removing the clear coat sealant option from the top package. Will that work? I'm also unsure about the sequence—will the hot wax pass occur after the ceramic coating? Just make this change and keep the clear coat sealant pass for the other packages.

If your machine wasn't built to include the hot wax option, it won't have the relays, routing solenoids, etc. to activate it. Just to keep it simple, 2 drying agents and ColorWave. It doesn't matter what drying agents you want to use, but the order of the passes won't change on your machine.
