I'm experiencing an issue with my X10 acceptor. It keeps blinking red/green and won't accept any tokens or coins. I swapped it with a new X12 acceptor, and programmed it, shows a green light, but it neither recognizes the value of coins nor produces any sound. It also doesn't reject the coins just go through it.

Interestingly, I tested the same X12 acceptor on another bay, and it worked fine. However, no coins or tokens seems to work on the problematic bay. The credit swiper on this bay functions properly, so I believe the timer is fine. I've also compared the wiring with other bays and ensured that all connections inside the wire nuts are secure.

Any suggestions on what I might be missing?

Most likely coin pulses not making it to the timer in problem bay. If coin acceptor works in another bay, that rules that out as issue. It is passing the pulses, timer not receiving. Check for loose or corroded wiring all the way from acceptor to timer pins.

What kind of timer? What credit card system? How is credit card hooked into timer? Separate pin or sharing coin acceptor pin?

when you tried the coin acceptor in another bay did you also move the personality plug to the new bay? If not try replacing the personality plug in the problematic bay.

I used the personality plug of that bay (not the one I am having the problem). Good Idea I can swap the personality plug and see if that zeroes down the problem.

We use the CryptoPay swiper and 1034 R timer. Have shared wires with CC and IDX. I removed all the nuts and made sure everything is touching properly. I also suspected it had to be with cables but can't figure out.

If I remember correctly the personality plug contains the coin pulse relay; If the relay is bad the timer will not get a pulse.

We dumped the IDX coin acceptors years ago because of there poor reliability and the poor repairs by IDX. If memory serves me correctly the personality plugs are different between the different models of the IDX coin acceptors. We've used the Slugbuster II and Slugbuster III coin acceptors for years and have been very happy with there performance.
