Hey everyone! I just built a simple app to keep me organized and focused on my car wash buying goals. It tracks my progress and even motivates me with daily targets—it only took me 5 minutes to make! It’s already making a difference in how I manage my outreach. This got me thinking, what kind of software or tools do you all use to manage your car wash business? Would love to hear what’s working for you!"

I'm in the market now for a to do list/maintenance app. I'd like to make a list for each employee and have them check off the list as it is completed. I'd like to see what they have accomplished each day. I imagine a PM list would be good too.

this is just a mock up of what it could be. It would take some work developing the app but it could be done and you would be able to use it on a mobile device.

The benefits of going paperless for car wash maintenance:

1. **Better organization**: Easier access and tracking of tasks.
2. **Fewer errors**: Automates updates and reminders.
3. **Cost savings**: Reduces paper, ink, and storage costs.
4. **Eco-friendly**: Minimizes waste and paper use.
5. **Real-time updates**: Immediate access to current info.
6. **Enhanced security**: Protects data with backups and encryption.
7. **Increased accountability**: Tracks tasks and schedules digitally.

So how expensive is it to have someone develop this, and maintain it?

I talked to one maintenance app company at the ICA show and it was kinda pricey for a small business with just a few employees. But you could argue that productivity of an employee would indeed improve and the app would pay for itself.

There might be a decent (but admittedly small)market for a reasonably priced app dedicated to the car wash industry.

I'd like an app that I could connect with where in addition to daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks they have to complete that I have a checklist for multiple sites that I can add items to, when the employee completes it they check it off and I can see what has been done by them on my phone.

The company I looked at even allowed uploaded of demonstration videos. So you could task an employee with "grease the automatic" and you could make a video showing how you want it done. Larger companies with big employee turnover might appreciate that feature.

Hey, I was just recently thinking about building an app like that. I'll need a few days to gather some details on app development and maintenance costs specific to the car wash industry. (I am all about automation)

Your ideas about task checklists and video uploads are awesome and could really boost training and accountability, especially for businesses with high staff turnover and for owners with multiple sites.

By the way, could you please send me your email address so I can contact you directly?

Totally get it! Everyone's different—some like automation to streamline tasks, others prefer to stay hands-on.

That's all I've ever needed. A note pad and a pencil, works for me.
Received a Christmas gift a few years back that consisted of a 4 pack of light switches you could turn on with an app.
It took me longer to (put my glasses on) find the app, open it, find the related toggle to turn on the light, than to get up and walk the ten steps to turn it on.
Plus, it was taking away my only exercise for the day :D
