Bay occupancy sensors

I am wanting to install a bay occupancy red and green light for my self serve bays. Im wondering what people are using for in bay sensors for a "bay in use" light outside of the bay. Or are you using the signal from your coin boxes to activate the light? Thanks!

Not trying to be a smartazz but isn't the car sitting in the bay indication enough unless you have some sort of door that completely blocks the view?

I have doors on my bays, being in Canada during winter, the glass windows fog up enough that's it's hard to see inside.
