Can you watch your security cameras from your cell phone?

I have my cameras on my phone "Sprint Instinct" and does it save time now I am trying to build a website I can use my browser on my phone to change wash options, speeds, check revenue, etc pretty much it like the program "gotomypc"

My cameras record to a dvr, also I can watch all the cameras live on my computer at home, I know that when I set it up on a new comouter it has to load into a windows based system, so I dont know if any phone can do that for me.

Many are Java based and can be viewed on some cell phones. Some of the DVR hardware comes with software applications to view on a Smart Phone. For example, I have geovision cards, they have a cell phone application, but only for Microsoft Pocket PC based smart phones. However my Blackberry Pearl can view snapshots if I use the Opera browser. I am told that they are working on an Iphone application.

So I guess it is possible depending on the DVR card & software, the phone and it's application and the speed of your connection. Keep in mind that video use a fair bit of the phones resources (processor and memory), so nice streaming video depends on a lot of things.

It depends more on the DVR than anything. Some stand-alones let you web-stream to any internet-enabled device which you access by going to an IP address, some will allow you to stream to a web site which you can then view on any internet-enabled device. The latter would require a web site, but that's cheap, as low as $10 a year.

As Big Leo Said the Geovision software is capable of streaming video to smart phones and now any phone running Windows mobile. With the new version 8.3 software which only came out about 2 weeks ago you are able to get streaming video on the newer Blackberrys.

Yes we can watch our security cameras from our home or from our phone - anywhere really. We have a static IP address and the security company has the information forwarded to the address. We type in the ip and a pair of passwords and we can see the whole facility.

Be careful what you wish for. It could be micromanaging at its worst. But it is also helpful during weather events or to check stacking etc.

I use LOGMEIN on my wife's Ipad.
LOGMEIN allows me to log in to my PC at the wash.
The dvr is connected to the PC.
Since you can watch from your PC at home just log in to your home PC and watch your wash from your phone.

I have cameras at all of my businesses and am able to watch all of them from my cell phone. As long as the dvr is connected to the internet, you can view remotely. I use an Android app called IP Cam Viewer. Works perfect and I check in multiple times daily.

We have a Zmodo DVR connected to the internet. We too use a IP cam viewer to see the wash remotely from our phones and also from home. Our Kondor automatic is also available on our phones and it is very nice to be able to control it from anywhere.

Under Pressure(I can relate),

We have an Ethernet based Kalatel DVR. For about 2.5 years now we have been able to see our cameras via either Droid or Iphone. Veriizon or Att&T First we checked with the GE Kalatel tech people. If I remember right GE said with their newest hardware they have a specific mobile app but I would have now buy ... even though there appeared to be no other gains involved except extra expense. Being the redneck that I can be ... I experimented with different remote desktop apps including mobile Logmein & PocketCloud. My current preference is the Xtralogic mobile app because it is sound (read alarm &/or 2 way intercom) capable for my DroidX on Verizon. The motion is fluid enough for me using 3G ... I am thinking it possibly will be even better with 4G ... Anybody have experience with 4G? The different remote desktop apps have pretty straightforward step by step setup instructions.
