This morning I braved the minus 29 below outdoor temperature & put double the startup amount of coins to see if my lower end KleenRite timers go double time. They only went the amount of time for the start up & not for the additional coins put in. "Sigh!!#$"
That just means you don't have accumulating timers. You will need to replace them to get what you want (More time for more coins added - "double time" does not describe what you want).

What brought about the temporary confusion is the fact that at one time "accumulate" was used to describe the ability to have the start up amount more than 1 coin if I remember right. I know the old Paraplate Vacuum Timers used to accumulate(time) for start up but not beyond that.
"Accumulate," as I described above, means more coins can be added above the start-up value and are added to the time. It never at any time referred to the timer needing more than one coin to start. The adjustment you made is to the "coins to start."

Do both the new & the older Dixmor LED-5s have bright enough LEDs so the time can be seen in bright sunlight?
The displays of both timers are plenty bright to read in sunlight, but sometimes with the sun shining directly into them it can be difficult to read.

If I go with Dixmor it looks like I will have to cut into the stainless removable plate an opening for the display.
There are likely pre-made replacement doors that are ready for a Dixmor timer. If not, it would be inexpensive to have some made, and would be neater than cutting them yourself. Stainless is very difficult to cut neatly with normal tools.

It might be a nice feature for your customers to have display timers, but you DO NOT NEED Dixmor timers to do what you want. Any accumulating vacuum timer will.

I don't like the newer Paraplate timers. I have 3 motor vacs so I have #10 wire feeding them. The new timers have a hole that the wire must be inserted into. The hole is barely big enough for the #10 wire. If you need to "piggyback" another wire in there it is very diffucult if not impossible. Mine are in relatively tight quarters and this is a big deal in my application. I have been using one called the "SuperTimer" that I like much better.

Thanks again everyone...especially for the Ebay link. I did go ahead & purchased those three on Ebay----it said they were working with a few scratches. We are looking forward to the fun involved mounting them. Dixmor said that usually it is better to get the optional shelf???

Who makes or sells Supertimer?
Cost?
Max Amp Specs?
You are correct that the size of the connection hole is a definite downside to Paraplates. This might be done intentionaly so as to not exceed amperage specs. If you need 10 gauge for whatever it powers it will likely outdraw the specs and you would be well advised to go the transformer and relay route in whch case a permanent splice 14 guage for the timer would not be much of an issue unless there is a problem running the power from the area (Coin Mech Area) where the timer is located to where you would need to put the transformer (under the dome). In this case the hassle and expense $50.00 + for both) of adding the transformer and relay is certainly outweighed by paying that much more for a timer that can handle it directly. But if your coin mech already uses 24 volt, then everything is already in place.

Earl, the SuperTimer is Securecoin brand. I got them from Jim Gosnell, but I have seen them in the K/R catalog (part# SECST) as well. They have a terminal strip like the older ParaPlate and the same footprint I believe. They also have a "grace time" feature.

Regarding the ParaPlate terminals, my coin boxes are pretty full and installing one of those new ones is a big pain for me. I can use them, but I won't buy any more. All of my vacs have a mercury relay.
