Bill,

Awesome stuff! When I worked in Cable TV, I needed to start looking up at the poles and the transmission lines. Through this I discovered birds and have been watching them ever since. In the last 10 years I have seen a big resurgence of the Osprey (likely due to the ban on DDT). They are now very common here and I watch them fish from my deck or kitchen window in the summer. Always loved the birds of prey!

A good friend of mine is in falconry. Has been for many years and has many birds at any one time. He doesn't fly ospreys, just sticks to hawks and falcons. I've been hunting with him many times and am always awe inspired.

We hunt rabbits with his hawks and ducks with his falcons. An incredible sight to watch a falcon swoop down from just a spec in the sky and take a duck out of mid-air right in front of you.

Wow! That would be very impressive! That would be a great day!

I tried bird watching when I was a kid, but I never got the hang of it.
