Stand Alone Air Shammee

I'am going to be removing my 1000lb propane dispensing system but keeping my exchange cabinet, but in place of the system I was considering putting in 2 Stand Alone Air Shammee(s) from Diskin Systems, I considered installing them in the s.s bays but I already have the concrete poured for the propane system so why not use the space 20x6 area, Can bill acceptors be installed these Stand Alone Systems? Does anybody have any pics of their system (Stand Alone Style) they can send me if they have any please.

Don't do it. Stand-alones don't get used. I have two mounted in a covered vac area and they don't get one use a day. Everyone that I have heard talk about them has gotten similar results. I have three that are in the bays on the SS dial and they get used frequently. In-bay is the way to go, don't put them in that bad location just because you think you need to use it. You will regret it. Many a poor performing wash was built because "We already have the land."

I.B hit it they dont do well out of the bay, before i would do that i would put in vacs or combo vacs

Don't listen to those two guys, they wouldn't know an Air Shammee from a dumptruck. My stand alone Air Shammee is a GREAT profit center!!!!!! Oh wait, that wasn't enough of these!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It just so happens that my stand alone Air Shammee can be purchased, because, I need that space for meditation.

I'll sell you mine for $200 - It's 3 years old but in new condition with very little use, err, wear.

Disclaimer: That price does NOT include the estimated $12 worth of quarters which may or may not be in the coin box as I haven't checked it in about a year.

Well after visiting a few sites with the Air Shammee system I noticed alot of them have the "attic' version not the in-bay style. So I asked the question to an owner with the system why he didn't install it outside he said "And have them throw a chain around it and steal my casino playing money!" he said the craziest thing he saw on his camera system capture was somebody that they closed both bay doors used the HP gun to wash themselve off and use the air shammee to dry themselve off!

Can you use the hose with just a regular vac nozzle on it or is required to have that gun nozzle on the end? They claim it has 120mph wind power? thats the same as a F2 Tornado! "Considerable damage. The reason i like to put them in the attic is it keeps them away from spray and the bay looks less clutered. Have you tried the Blasto-Dry unit? You should If you want send me a message if you have any questions

In attic to draw warm air from heated trough, less noise, cheaper (no hood) and looks cleaner. Finally, don't like 30a circuit in wash bay!

I put in the blasto-dry attic units in two of my bays. The two top bays @ october of 08. In the begining the top bays moved over one as customers were some what affraid of the new hoses in the congested bay. After many free demos those bays are back at #1&2. Alot of customers had and still have trouble with the button on the wand you only need to push it once. What I think it did for me was seperate me from the competiton. I have what the others don't and found some new regulars from it. I spent time on this site and got feedback about the stand alone units as being not so hot so I put them in the attic with the mosmatic z-booms and might not do that again as the hoses all come in the bay a foot or so and I think that is why people stayed away from those bays.

On all the units i have done we have jumped the switch out so when they select on the meter door they hear it come on

I had to do that too.

I need to do that but it gives me a chance to meet and explaine to the customer how it works and sell it. I go out there with a few tokens to buy time for them and show how neat it is when I hear it go on and off.

I have 17 of the disken ones and all of them are the inbay type. Some are in the attic and others are in bay. I like to put them in the attic as they draw the hot air out, witch you would think would dry the car better. Also I get the 230 volt ones so you can tie them into the top of the motor starter for the HP pump and you don't need an extra circuit in the breaker panel. I have no experiance with the stand alones at all so no factual data here. Every bay we aquire will have an air shammie in it. A good freind of mine put in some of the blast o drys and we have the same camera system so I watch his customers and I see that they seem to struggle with the gun as it takes two hands to use. From what I understand they are two motor and the air shammies are 3.

You'd probably make more with an air machine, especially if there isn't a convenience store nearby with one.

Can somebody send me some pics of the "attic" style air shammee I want to see what it looks like up in the attic so I can get an idea of how I'm going to mount it in mine.

Sorry Dimond wash that it took so long to respond. What I did was mount mine between the rafters. It has legs to do it. I think on one I had to use a flat 2x4 across the rafter to mount. I put the hose thru the ceiling with a 2x12 on a mosmatic z boom with brackets holding the 2x12 to the rafters and the boom. I used a 2 1/2 inch hole centered to accept the hose. I can send pics if you need them just let me know.
