I was going to buy a used Softgloss when Ryko distributor told me about a special current offer. A new base Softgloss Maxx for $49,995. $12,000 for installation. Trifoam for $5,000. Wheel scrub $9,000. Anyone has got one installed new and know if is this a good deal? Nov 15 is deadline. Thanks

Vinh,
I have seen some incredible prices on used Softgloss machines at Astromatic in the past. It seems that in certain locations people don't use them so you can find "barely used" machines. I have debated adding another one on and off for 3 years now. By the time I add doors and heat and an acw and installation I still end up in the $100k range. So I still don't have another one.

I look at used machine on Astromatic and Ebay. The problem is cost of removal and risk of buying a lemon. Also 1 year warranty is a big plus. I heard a Softgloss can get 100000 wash easy.

I've got one with 140,000 washes on it. Cleaned it up recently, replaced covers and it looks new. Friction lasts longer than touch-free and typically is less maintenance. No high pressure pump, hammering things or aggressive chemicals eating through things. This is just my own personal opinion and not car wash scripture...

When I removed the very first SGXS it had 540K washes on it. It still worked good too.

The SoftGloss is a awesome machine, are you adding another machine to another bay or are you replacing your Ryko OHD?

I was thinking of adding a wall and making another bay but that will require lots of concrete cutting. The softgloss would be in the new bay. Total installation I guess would come to about $115,000.

other option is upgrade the OHD, with softgloss for about $70,000.

other option is upgrade the OHD with radius for about $75,000.

My OHD is old (2001) but only have 30,000 wash on it. Hate to get rid of an auto with such low wash count.

Why so few washes on it?
