I've used 3 different products for tire shine but all seem to have different amounts of sling.
I am thinking about trying Amor All but have not talked to anyone that uses it.
Anybody using it and if so how's it working? Slinging?

Zep Blue Pearl Tire Dressing. Zero sling using Sonnys Tire Shiner. If you are using one, you need to make the mods to the application manifold to get the best results.

I use the Viper Machine and applicator at 4 places. No issues with sling. Maybe I'm clueless. Or maybe it's the way the equip and places are laid out.

Earl doesn't the viper system spray the tire solution on the tire?
After the wash the tires look great it's after the customer leaves I sometimes get the sling.
The sling is not during the process but after the customer leaves the wash.
My main questions are why it seems no one uses Armor All vs. other tire shine products?
If anyone uses it does it sling?

I would guess that Armor All is to thin to stay in the pads. I tested a product for another supplier that was very thin and all it did was run right through the pads onto the bay floor. It also ran all over the wheels and made a mess of my drying area.

Yes, the Viper sprays it on. One reason I can think of why sling might not be an issue is that the car travels at a relatively low speed for a sufficient distance before it gets to the street and most all excess product has run off at sufficiently low speed so that byt he timeit gets to the street and the wheel sturn at sufficient speed there is little if any product left on the tire in liquid form so there is little or no sling.

We use Ecolab's On Line Tire shine. We don't have a huge problem with sling because we only need to put the bare minimium through the tire shine because we put it on 100% of the vehicles we wash. Therefor, we don't have to place a lot on per car. The only way I've been able to eliminate it is through the use of mud flaps on my vehicle. When customers complain about sling, its always on vehicle that does not have mud flaps. So I recommend that they add them not just eliminate the sling but also because they will protect their rocker panels from tar, stones and salt. If they balk at that, then I simply tell them that they should bring their own paper towels to wipe the wheel down before they leave. However, it is a rarity when we get a complaint. Apparently they are simply able deal with it on their own. Hey, maybe we could all get some Obama stimulus money to hire people to wipe off tires as they leave.

We have tried many different kinds of tire shine. Our shiner is similar to the Viper system where it touchlessly applies the tire shine to the wheel while traveling down the bay. This can lead to more sling so we've struggled with different products.

I like the look of silicone based products but the sling was real bad. Most of the water based products were too thin to produce a good shine for us going on a wet tire.

We tried Viper shine's chemical and It produces a great shine with little to no sling. we've never had a sling complaint since, but I do notice that if not wiped off of the rim it attracts the brake dust into little black dots after about a week but I'll live with that since my customers don't seem to mind.

I tried Armor-All's High Shine and that was too watery. They used to have a specific tire shine chemical for touchless applications like ours but have discontinued it.
