SMC FRL Bowl Failure

Acquired some SMC Mini FRL from Sonny's.

Had several plastic Bowl Failures in a year.

Contacted SMC directly via e-mail to see if they sold replacement bowls.

The rep found out i was using them in a car wash and right away guessed that some car wash chemicals in the environment may negativley affect the bowls both internaly and externaly.

They do have metal bowl substitutes F $9.70
L $7.85

So I saved a few bucks instead of full replacemnt cost. Current catalog $50.99

Anyone else have similar issues? I wonder what the cost difference of new ones with metal bowls would be. Perhaps a car wash supplier would not offer something with such compatability issues.

I have had the same problem. The bowls just seem to get brittle and then they crack and start to leak.:(
