Bill & others,

The "remember me" youtube reflects something that needs reflecting on with the 4th of July approaching.

Our Armed Forces are often more than just protecting us from terrorists & the evil agressiveness of some world leaders.

Seeing over 1500 Nat'l Guardsmen leave their jobs & families for over 3 weeks to help our over 10 miles of emergency levee building & sandbagging & 66 miles of road closures very recently here in the Bismarck area was an experience. There was something special working with them during that all out "race against time" effort. Main arteries of streets closed so truck after truck could pass while many intersections were manually directed to maintain maximum traffic flow despite the rerouting. Many of those same individuals were immediately sent to Minot & eventually were needed to provide the same emergency usable water etc temporarily there to the medical facilities etc. They specialized in reverse osmosis purified water treatment etc. in Bosnia, Iraq & Afghanistan etc. --- & even during the Haiti earthquake crisis aftermath.

At times I really don't know how are military serves today. We haven't really "won" a war since WW2. Think about it. The generals and politicians who had balls are gone. Today we have military leaders who take sensitivity training. We have "leaders" like Obama and Clinton (remember his phrase, "I loath the military.") who simply do not understand that you win wars by killng people and breaking things. We could defeat the freaking taliban in two weeks if we simply brought back the flamethrower from WW2. The rules of engagement for our troops are a joke, and our enemies know it. Our attorney general wants us to capture our enemies, read them their rights, and have them stand trial on our soil. May God help us all and look over our military.

I watched a very disturbing movie last night Iraq in Fragments, which makes you really wonder not why we went there but why we are still there. However, Iraq; the inside story, did somewhat provided some balance, but Mac is right, the people in Washington are nuts.

If you really want to be confronted with things that we more or less knew but assumed that Washington knows best, watch The War on Democracy.
