Tripping with High pressure !! help!

hi , to begin iam a new bee to the carwash bussiness so pardom me if am not not using the right terms here..but yeah still looking for help.
problem: when high pressure soap or rinse is opted the power trips and shuts down, no problem with other options i.e presoak, tire foam foam brushor other low pressures.
equipment: about 10mnth old cat 310 pump, i maintain about 1100 psi for high pressure.
any solution please.
 
Make sure the pump turns in case it has seized up. Check all wiring connections from the motor to the breaker. Your motor may have failed or there's a bad connection on the 3-phase to the motor. If you're not familiar with working on electrical, call an electrician.
 
Could also be a loose wire in the coin meter box or at the rotary switch. These could be shorting and causing the bay shut down. What do you have to do to reset the bay?
 
Could be an overload on the contactor dropping out. My Sprecher Schuh motor contactors have an adjustable over load mounted to the bottom of the contactor. If yours are like this, make sure the amperage (setting) on the overload is set just above the max amps of the drive motor. Just a thought....

Like Ken-Pro suggested, what do you have to do to reset the bay? This will help diagnose the problem....

The overloads tend to age too and trip more easily after a few years. You could use an amp clamp on each phase and see what the actual draw is. That would tell you if there is a problem or the overload is acting up.
 
Did you take a look at the guage when the breaker trips....does it jump up to its normal 1100 PSI? If its shooting way past you may have a solenoid in the water lines not opening causing the pump to over amp

Or the bypass not opening?

I checked the coin box no loose connections,
i couldn't check the overloads because its too short time to guage before it trips.
when it trips i just switch back on the bay power switch it runs for seconds before it trips back. i tried to reset the contactor but no difference
I looked at the pressure gauge and it was barely touching 100psi. i also noticed that fumes would come out of the motor just when it would trip, and this is true for all high pressures (HP rinse, HP soap and wax). is this the sign of motor failure , bad connection between the motor and the 3-phase? or any other thoughts.

It could be either one.

If the motor is burned up to the extent it's causing the breaker to trip, its not worth repairing. Do you have single-phase or 3-phase power to the motors?
 
It's not likely 8; it's probably 3.

Have you gone through and checked the wiring connections?

Have you removed the belt and run the pump with no load or turned the pump to see if it's seized?
