Winter Shampoo

Who is using what for their winter shampoo for shampoo machines / combo vacs.

Have been buying Coleman stuff for about $60.00 per case of 6 gallons non concentrate.

KR seems about the same price (also 5 gals non cncentrate for $40.00).

But they also advertise a concentrate 1 gallon makes 4 for $21.95. (5 Gallons would make 20 $40.25) Would save on shipping and storage. Any one use this concentrate?

I have always bought the regular winter shampoo from Kleen Rihe with great success but this time I bought the concentrate but I have yet to mix any of it.

I've been using the concentrates for a year or so. Seems to work as good as the other stuff.

we tried the Kleen-Rite winter concentrate but our luck wasn't very good with it. It seemed liked we kept having freeze ups. We don't go through a ton, so we have just gone back to using their ready made winter shampoo which has worked well.

How low in temperature will winter concentrate go before there is a freeze up ?

I'm in mild temps but I thought the enclosed heater and blowdown functions was designed to keep from freezing.

I use Warsaw's 32 to 1 carpet shampoo in my coleman units. It comes from their janitorial division and is quite economical. 2.5 cups of concentrate makes five gallons of solution. Perhaps the addition of a quart of methanol to that to enhance freeze protection.

Yep, works great so long as;

1. The power is never off. Costs a lot to get a unit shipped to and returned from Coleman becuase power was out and everything froze and busted and cracks had to be repaired.

2. It's kind of like using non freezing foam brush soap. So long as it's not too cold it's OK. But at 25 degrees after going thru the cold hose and brush, it is freezing.
