Dispensing windshield washer fluid

I know a couple of you have built windshield washer dispensers in the past. How has your business been and would you do it again? Do you change fluid types with the seasons (deicer in winter)? Does any brand sell better than others? Do you buy bulk and if so where do you get it from?

I'm also very interested in this idea...toyed around with it for a while, but never pulled the trigger. Interested to hear some feedback.

I built one a couple of years ago. Didn't cost me hardly anything (except for a SS coin box) as I already had the parts (timer, coinmech, solenoids), etc. Made my own signs.

See it here http://www.wallywash.ca/Detail_Area.htm

I think I'm the only one around who does this and so people don't understand the concept. So it doesn't get used much...but its just another revenue source. Like an air machine (that does way better and requires nothings).

I always use the same stuff I buy in bulk from a company that supplies lube shops. The come by and fill my 55 gal drum directly once a season.

I enjoyed making it with my son and he buys the fluid and makes the profits. But his pop machines does much better.

Leo, What are you using for a shut off gun on your dispenser? I have decided to make a system to install in may bays. I have almost all of the parts on hand to put it together except the gun and coil hose.

Eric

I use a 200PSI air hose that's good to -10f. The gun I get from Kleenrite (it's a JE Adams water spout)

What do you think about charging a little extra and offering a Rain-X brand washer solvent vendor?

Because we all know that people love buying things that they have heard of?

I would pay to fill my washer bottle with Rain-X brand fluid. I like how it works. It even smells good coming through the vents when I spray it.

I anyone read the post I just deleted; please excuse the huge mathmatical mistake I made. I am clearly an idiot

I have windshield washer fluid dispenser, any of you know who makes concentraded fluid? or even better is it possible to home make the fluid? isnt it just ratio of alcohol and glass soap? any advice? any ratios for summer and for winter to avoid freezing?

Well winter washer solvent being mixed with methanol, im pretty sure that it needs to be mixed well to ensure that it works well and that it will not damage any lines or equipment on the vehicle.
