Tire Valve Breaking

A couple of years ago had a chrysler tire valve - metal with TPMS break in a tunnel. Do not have tire brushes and it was a passenger side unit. Found on the net lots of issues with these, especialy if someone uses a metal dust cap. Dissimilar metals cause corrosion.

Recently had one on a 2006 Cadillac break. Different tunnel, no tire brushes, Driver side but the stem would not have hit the rail. Found some stuff about issues with these but not Cadillac specific like Chrysler.

Anyone else have more info?

Earl could it have hit the correlator entering or the end of the rail exiting?
I had one customer turn their wheel at the end of the exit, don't know why they did, but it caught the valve.

While anything is possible my guy says the valve did not extend past the edge of the rim.

I havn't had issues with Cadillac/GM TPMS, but Chrysler and Land Rover ones have broken on a few occasions.

I'd check your tunnel exit, even if it doesn't look like it could touch anything it may have if whoever pulled it off made a sharp turn.

I've had customers hit the collator hard enough to break the stem even when the stem was not extended.
