Maximum TDS of spot free?

I've had RO equipment manufacturers tell me that up to 50 TDS is ok for good quality spot-free, but from my experience you'll start seeing spots at 30 and above. It's more noticeable in self-serve than from an auto or tunnel with a dryer.

If the system is working properly, it SHOULD be below 10, but it doesn't need to be. I probably told you that and you remembered incorrectly.

I have had spots at 15-17. I keep everything adjusted to have it at 4 or below.

Keep in mind that you are mixing that RO water with the water already on the car, with TDS probably in the hundreds. 30 TDS water may very well be spot free if you sprayed it on a dry car. I have no science to back this up...just sayin.

The key to getting a truly spot free car is making sure you displace all the wash water.
