I have a Unitec Wah II that is a little over 1 year old. The decal is fading and scalely, it looks 10 years old. Is there a replacement decal? It doesn't even get direct sunlight. Has anyone else had this problem?

I have two Wash Select II's that are 4 years old and they still look good. Do they get a lot of overspray from the auto or prewashing?

I am not sure what causes fast fading.

I had my change machines right next to each other. One aged extremely quick, the other was normal.

I still have not figured out why.

temp solution to the fading

Use some type of stainless steel cleaner. We use it on all of our decals in S.S. & autos. This makes it look nice and new for about a week. Just make sure you wipe everything off after you spray it on.

Hope this helps....:)

Yes, I had the same issue with mine. I contacted Unitec, they sent me a new decal under warranty. It will be a big job to replace it. I have not got around to it yet. I tried many different products to try and improve it's appearance. I even tried to wet sand it to remove the "scales". I have found that the "just for vinyl" vending wipes make it look good for about 7-10 days. That's our solution until we get around to replacing the decal.

Oops, it's Stoner's "Trim Shine" that we use every two weeks on the decal to eliminate the "scales" and make it look nice. Just spray it on and leave it.
