In the early 1990’s, I was an environmental manager for a county that was required by federal law to implement random air quality vehicle inspections.
This meant working with county sheriff deputies and pulling vehicles off the highway like a DUI check point.
This meant getting motorist to pull into a single waiting line and directing them to proceed to stop point for the inspection.
Through trial and error we learned it was much easier to get vehicles aligned properly by using the technique that highway construction crews use to reduce two lanes to one.
Place traffic cones so they form a funnel just like a conveyor correlator yoke.
Since the POS for in-bay is about 10’ linear or more from bay
door, maybe some painted lines or traffic cones arranged in a V pointing towards entrance bay
door would better help customers to point their vehicle.
