Has anyone ever tried to recover this type of vac canopy. I've looked around and haven't found a source for just the covering itself. I've thought about altering the aluminum frame underneath and making it have a pitched metal roof. Maybe colored metal?

Sign shops usually make the canopies. I've seen them put the covering on, it looks easy enough but I'm sure there is some skill/technique involved.

You might check with a sign supply house to see if they will deal with someone not in their "trade". I'm sure they would have the material. Having it cut and seamed is another problem

I used a local awning company to do mine. I called the local rep who sold it to me and he reccomended someone. It did not pay to ship it back to the mfgr and then again to me to get it done.

I had two of them recovered a few months ago. I used an awning company that does backlit canopies. I was very pleased they were just like new.
