I recently changed from EE to touchfree auto. I had Token notes printed for the Hamilton Auto Cashier. All though someone is there several times every day, I am looking for ideas on how to offer the coupon packs. I was thinking about a drop shelf vendor, but dont like the idea of that much valuables in one, or I could change my vendmaster around and put them in there. Please share your ideas or what has worked for you.
To all the nay sayers that said I was crazy to go from a low volume EE to touch free auto, Its been best move I ever made!!! Business has been up every month, self serve business is up and I picked up a bunch of Coleman Combo vacs that I have been redoing, and have replaced my old Monorails. The new Vacs are rockin it. I know its early on, but the stress factor alone not worrying about help showing up or whether or not I would even bring in payroll is a big issue. I will post updates. my Facebook pages have a log of what we were doing.

Our top wash is $12. We put three token notes in a fancy little envelope and vend them in our spiral vender for $26. The only way to purchase them is with a credit card. They are a good seller for us.

Yes the Mars/MEI validators can accept a coupon. But only the Mars/MEI coupon https://www.vendingcoupons.com/ The problem with the Mars/MEI coupon is they are expensive and the validator sees them as real money and will give back change. Put in 2 - $5.00 coupons for a $6.00 wash and you’ll get back $4.00 in change.

“I recently changed from EE to touchfree auto. Its been best move I ever made!!! Business has been up every month”

Since you turned around by going back to in-bay (low volume/high price) from express (high volume/low price), what advantage is “ticket book” mentality which is suited for discounting high volume/low price (conveyor)?

If in-bay volume is 30,000, average sales $7.00 and variable unit cost $1.50, contribution margin is $165,000.

If average sales $10.00, volume 19,400, VUC $1.50, CM is still $165,000.

If volume is only 12,000, average sales $12.00, VUC $1.50, CM is $126,000.

So, wash book strategy needs to generate an additional 18,000 cars to yield additional $39,000 in CM at average sales $7.00

I would rather cultivate 12,000 at $12.00. This has less risk than relying on wash books to increase volume by over 200 percent.

This week i am buying a brand new unitec wash select 2 with a POS4000 for my new laser we are installing had a ACW4 tearing it down. How would you guys market fleet accounts my local sheriff department wants to do it and came to me about it. Have talked to other operators in my area and they have been successful doing this. My top wash is gonna be $10. how do you sell them and what kind of price deals do you give them. Should I do coupons, Codes, or plastic like credit cards?

I like the unlimited plans that require you to have it automatically charged to the customers credit card every month. I know a national chain that has done very well with that approach.

As far as the sheriff's department it depends on what wash they want. When we did it with the local sheriff's department they originally wanted the best wash so we discounted it by 50% and they guaranteed a minimum number of washes. They later downgraded it to the basic and we lowered the discount to 25% with a minimum wash count. It worked well because they paid like clockwork and always exceeded the minimum numbers. In fact many of the officers upgraded the wash on their own and paid the difference which we gave them a $2 dollar discount on.

We give the local police a code. They pre pay for 25 washes and when the count gets low we automatically bill them and add washes to their code. We discount them 25% and they agreed to wash only at night...3rd shift etc. as added security for us. It works well for us.
