Anybody have any ideas as to why my boom hits the gantry when traveling back up inside the gantry? There is no boom tilt Prox on the 2.0 and I have been told the count is factory set and can't be changed. The boom tilt solenoid is fine and the boom does not stick when I tilt the boom in manual mode. I am getting normal boom test counts of 87 every time. I really think the factory set tilt count is wrong. While in manual mode, I lowered the boom and tilted it and slowly raised the boom until it automatically released the tilt. I then went inside and look at the boom count and it said 6. Does anybody else know at what count their boom releases it's tilt? It is beating the cover to the boom all to hell and breaking the spot free nozzles on the gantry. Very frustrating to say the least....thanks in advance for any advice or help!

Problem is that the boom tilt air valve is not exhausting quickly to allow the boom to return to the vertical position before retracting into gantry.

replace both exhaust valves, cheap and never know which one it is, at least I don't.
It has a brand new ARO air valve on it and exhausts just fine. I think it's in the programming of the machine. It's nots getting the signal to release the tilt until after the boom hits the body of the gantry. In manual mode, I can tilt the boom after it comes down like 6", which is still up inside the gantry for the most part. Both automatics at this location have the same issue. This is why I think it's in the programming.

It does sound like a programme error. Has it always done this? If it is a programme error then you can upgrade the software with a flash card from jcc

I assume it has done this as long as we have had it. Does you boom release tilt without hitting the gantry while in manual mode? These are the only 2.0 machines we have. I mainly have 1.0's, thus I don't have much to compare to.

I would guess that as the boom tilts ok in manual and counts ok. The only other thing is the boom moving too fast! Check the vfd settings. Our voltages in Ireland are different so I dont think our settings would be the same.
