At least that means that current cards won't immediately be obsolete.I read today that most major cards will convert by the end of 2015.
I don't know about you guy's in the US but here in Canada, all of our chip and pin cards are also pay wave enabled for fast "tap" contactless chip authorizations. This works for all low value transactions under $50 or $100 dollars.I’ve been following this issue pretty closely and from what I can gather it doesn’t look good for the car wash industry. If they require another type reader to read to smart chip card and the ability to enter a pin number it’s going to be a major expense to the car wash operator. I’ll keep my ears to the pavement and keep you posted if I find out anything more.
