I found a part on one of my booms this morning that was ripped nearly in half and I need to replace it. Couldn't have happened at a worse time as cars have been lined up all weekend. I thought about trying to repair it temporarily, but decided against it as it is in bad shape. I am trying to find a replacement but can't find it on KleenRite. Anyone know what part I need and the best place to buy it? Not sure what brand boom I have. Only # on the part is B06-1. It is the part that slides over the pole then hooks with a spring to the part that houses the hose. Looks like what you see in this picture: http://www.kleen-ritecorp.com/p-7284-kleen-rite-spring-boom-stainless-steel-x-brace.aspx

The same part on the Kleen-Rite (JE Adams) boom might actually fit yours.

If you could post a pic of your entire boom, someone might be able to identify it.

I can't find that part sold separately for the Kleen Rite Boom, just the whole assembly. Maybe I need to look again. I didn't take a picture, but the top part is in the attic so all you see is the nipple hanging from the ceiling, that's what the broken piece attaches to. Then the rest of the boom looks exactly like the Kleenrite boom in the link.

Come pick one up! I'll give you one. :)

Do you want one? Or just looking to repair yours? Couldn't you weld the arm back on though?

My intention when I took it down was to weld it, but it is in pretty bad shape. You can't tell from the picture, but it is at least 45 degrees off from where it should be and torn pretty bad. I don't think it could be repaired. You don't weld it back to the arm, it just attaches to it with a screw, so all I need to replace is this piece.

Kleen-Rite may not stock the part or have it listed on their site, but they can certainly get it.

These booms are so similar in design that most of the the Adams boom, the D/H and the Dralco boom parts interchange.

It looks like a tube with a flat plate welded to the side, which has two holes and a tab bent out for the boom stop. Maybe someone could make a new plate, weld a small piece of angle on for a stop and weld that to the tube to repair it.

I'd get up there and check the spindle, which might also be bent. It would suck getting the part fixed/replaced to find out you still need to replace more parts.

I agree with mep1 if there is that much damage to that piece then the whole boom could be messed up?

BTW I don't have a boom like that anyway (I just checked some).... I was going to give you a different style.

I looked at the nipple coming from the ceiling and it seems straight. You could actually still use the boom when it was torn like this, it swiveled around fine, just hung low and seemed dangerous. KleenRite just told me that piece is not sold separately.

Which of your washes is that from? The one with 2 autos? If so..... Do you think it could be Coleman then? It looks kind of like one.

Yes, the wash with two autos. I didn't know Coleman made booms, but if so then I'm sure it is as everything else there is Coleman. I'll call them and see if they have it. Thanks.

Coleman does have it, said that they made it double walled so that it is nearly impossible to break now. They must have had this issue before. Just bought two. Thanks for the tip!

Heres what I would do. I would hammer out the bend in the flat piece that is tig welded to the tube. Then take it to a weld shop and have it reinforced with an 1/8" piece of SS flatbar. (You have to have it tig welded since its stainless). Or find somebody that can mig weld stainless. Then you will be set. I wouldn't buy a whole boom assembly until trying to fix this one. I would think it would cost $50.00 or less to repair it. Sorry, I posted this repair while you were typing!

Lol. Coleman sells it for $63 and they say it's much more durable now, so I figured buying new would be the best bet. Also saves me time since it will be delivered right to me and I won't have to make trips to a machine shop.

They might not make it? But they sell one that looks just like that. :)

Of course it is. They just don't know how to find it or want to put in the effort to do so. That's one of the things I really hate about Kleen-Rite.
I'm sure your right. There is no way I'll believe that piece isn't sold separately. It is a stand alone piece, why would you have to buy the whole boom for it when all other parts are made available separately?

You'd have to call JE Adams directly to get a part number, then Kleen-Rite will probably order it if Adams won't sell directly to you.
