A while ago I asked what systems you recomended

Went with AT&T 1040 Phones. I needed 4 lines and 5 extensions with intercom capability.

Phones can be had for $80.00 and one with buil in answering system for $140.

Started with 3 to try it out.

Simpler than expected. ordering 2 more, one with the answering system.

Earl,

Does the duplexing speakerphone work really clear without any choppy cut off words? That would be very important to our 3 line setup.

After you checked into VOIP ... did the VOIP phones turn out to be too high risk &/or complicated?

VOIP seemed to complicated for me. Perhaps it wasn't. Dealing with the cabling, routers and switches and the system ability to handle the traffic, fax machine etc. along with regular internet and CC Processing was beyond me.
After using it a while I will get back to you one the duplexing.
