There was a company who re-bored and lined the head that the ceramic plunger runs in.
Our pump is "potted" on walls and seems to cause pulsation and loss of pressure--

Thanks in advance---

I assume you are asking who that company is... I believe there are several. We have used Vilco Supply out of TN to rebore and line the heads of our 310s.

Do you have contact info for them? I've tried with no luck to find it.

I've asked Kleen-Rite several times if they repair them with a seat pressed into the valve area as well, but they never know and never call me back with the information as they've promised. Cat distributors I've contacted don't do the valves, and without it I wouldn't waste the money.

It has been said that here are many of these pumps out there in the scrap heap that can be parted out. Look around or ask any and all distributors you know for a used head. It would be shame to find out that all the scrapped pumps were scrapped because of this problem.

Vilco Supply advertises in SSCWN, that is where I first heard of them. They seem to know what they are doing and we have been happy with the heads that we have had repaired. The turnaround time is pretty good too.

Their phone # is 888-255-4181 They do both a high pressure bore with stainless steel ring and a valve seat bore with stainless steal sleeve according to their ad.

Thanks for info--We called today and learned alot from a knowledgeable owner---the short answer is that he does not reline 3535 pumps, so we will have to buy a new inlet head for $1,200 from kleenrite unless we come up with more idea,s

I've never tried this in a 3535 head, but when I rebuild a pump that's only slightly pitted around the packing area I use blue Loc-Tite both under the new seal and under the retainer to fill the void. In a 310 or 5CP it tends to last as much as another year, at which point I'll either replace the head or the pump.

That is a Great idea---will pull apart later this week to see how bad it is----we may have a line on a complete used pump---so now we have choices, which is great. Plan will be to put in new packing then shop for a used pump this spring.

SW Indiana melon fields.
My distributor has scrapped a bunch of old Mark VII machines. They use the 3535. He has been selling the used pumps for $500. I don't know if he has any right now or not.

The Heads appear fine---but on further inspection found center plunger rod failure---so we replaced damaged parts and re did seals and after much money--came up and ran great--

Doesn't Cat warranty the heads one time? I have sent several to them and they return them with an R stamped on it to verify the head has been returned. I have used Kleen Rite a couple of times for a re bore, they sent them to Cat and they always say the heads are not repairable.
