installing a oasis monsoon

We are converting out truck bay to a automatic, our bay is 29' ft long by 19 wide. We are looking to extend our bay to the front by 10 ft to give a total length to 39'. We don't have enough room in our equipment room for the oasis equipment. we would like to install as far to the left as we can and then build a wall on the right with enough room to put equipment. what is the min width for oasis and standalone dryer. also we have a 3/4 copper line coming in the wash is that going to be big enough to run without a separte holding tank. what's the best way to setup equipment room we should have 29' ft long by whatever width to work with. thanks

14'-1" minimum with on-board dryer, 13'-8" without. You need a somewhere around 15'-4" for the bay equipment. That would leave 3' width for equipment room? I don't see how this is going to be possible. Also, 3/4" water line is too small.

The hydraulic unit on an oasis takes up quite a bit of real estate. You may want to look into an IBA that has all the equipment contained within the bay itself. PDQ has this option on all of their washes, mostly for gas stations with little/no equipment room. I'm sure others do as well, PDQ was just the only one I knew off the top of my head.

Sounds like a lot of work, expense and potential cluster to install a machine that is obsolete and not manufactured anymore.

This sounds like good advice.

I just checked we have a 1 in water line equipment has barely been used we will do the build out our selves. What kind of dryer is the best and how long should we make the bay so one can come in and the other to leave at the same time

You may want to consider the on-board dryer. This may save you $ on extending the bay.

One option on the water line that kills 2 birds with one stone is to abandon the float tank provided and use a 250 gallon tote. You can set your float half way up and use the top half for ro waste to be used in high pressure rinse. This will give you a buffer. I would try this first and if you are still running out of water a booster pump is next.

I suggest that you call Tim Wilson at Professional Car Wash Systems (515-868-1439) I recently installed a WashWorld Razor in a bay 15' wide and 36' long (We extended a 30' bay 6'). I am very happy with the machine and the service. We are washing 25% faster, customers love it and it is extremely reliable, a small fraction of the service calls compared to my previous 7 year old gantry style machine.

Blvette,
We have a monsoon, it is a little old school but it does a good job. If you need any measurements or pics let me know. The folks at oasis are very helpfull. We have been kicking the idea of moving up to a typhoon, XP, or a razor recently.

Could we get a pic of your equipment room to see best setup also what is your bay width. Also we have automatic doors how close do u mount rails by doors. We also looked at the typhoon but didn't want 5o spend 100 k on a machine

We don't have doors. I'll take pictures and measure in the next couple of days.

Width is 174"
Hight is 172"
And length is 344"
I couldn't download images (from iPhone) but if you PM me your email I'll send them to you. I'll try to post pics when I get to my PC

so we will be upgrading our single phase to 3 phase power, it say it need atleast 100 amp for auto how much does a typical dryer unit use also my electric company is charging me to convert to 3 phase, I will be paid back if we use a certain amount of energy. How much would a typical auto with 2 self serve bays be using, planning on aprox 5 to 7 k cars per year. not looking for exact dollar but guestimates to turn over to see if I can get a reduced install price.

100amp isn't going to cut it... you need a 225A rated breaker just for the pump motor. As far as your dryers, it will depend on size and quantity of motors.
