    Things Just Got Real

Curious after you are completed to hear more about the process of building from the ground up a new SS/IBA wash. Not done often these days. Way to go! Where in Utah as I go to SLC to ski. Are you still on track for February? Very cool to see a new wash that is not a tunnel!

Corporate Express Exteriors are OUT of Their Ever Loving Minds!

The math is hard to fathom even if the annual rent is $250,000 and they get $5M per location (in the above mentioned example). Times 4 locations that is $20M which is still a long way from $32M. If GR is say $2.9M (11x) minus $1M for rent leaves an adjusted GR of $1.9M and a $12M gap to pay...

    Washworld Double Barrel vs. Razor

We looked at the double before ordering our third Razor due to bay height constraints. Requires additional bay height. WW was vague when I asked them about water usage. The Razor top packages use about 70 gals/car and we use the ARM function for most passes. I would want to try the DB a few...

Corporate Express Exteriors are OUT of Their Ever Loving Minds!

So the financial gurus in equity funds are repackaging them. They are listing many properties for sale at a 5.25% cap (19x). If you buy at 11x and can sell them for 19x then the math really works plus the business (car washing) has their rent locked in for 20-30 years at a very low level...

    Polarized Water

I asked my Master Plumber who works for individuals, companies, apartment buildings and government agencies. He never heard of such approach in 30 years of experience. Only recommends a softener.

What vacuum hoses do you use?

We have made the switch to Dura Slide hoses. They feel beefier and seem to last longer than the basic KR hose. Customers seem to have noticed the change too.

maybe but probably would not pop.

Profile and center of the bay

We are looking at a simpler version of the above, a second forward stop sign like what we have at the front of the bay but on the machine in the middle.

    Floor Heat boiler puked...replacement options?

Two years ago we replaced the glycol in a wash floor system for about $40/5gal bucket. We are doing another wash renovation and the same glycol bucket is selling for $170. We opted for highest grade antifreeze (undiluted) instead which seems to work just as well as the glycol mix (50/50) at...

    NAYAX vs CRYPTO PAY

I hear about many more machines going down on Nayax than CryptoPay. The one box design is the only advantage of the Nayax. CryptoPay control sw panel is better and you can have remote control of the device with the CryptoPay. CryptoPay costs more if you purchase both swipe and tap systems...

    Wash Bay pricing

Your customer leads to this question. Has anyone used the Restart ON function of the Dixmor timers? I may experiment with that feature enabled. We already use the bonus time at $20 level which seems to help drive larger bills in the box and more $20 max cc use. If someone has used the...

Yup. We have Dixmor at our other washes. The display on the Dixmor is easier to read.

    Wash Bay pricing

Occasionally I hear the same thing about the horn. We changed it to be the last 30 seconds so it is less annoying. I know a wash where the starting price is $1 as they think it gets more customers (but their rates are about $1/1min). Who knows, no perfect answer.

    Wash Bay pricing

As someone mentioned, all depends on the local cost of living and the level of service provided to customers. Labor, water, sewer, property taxes, utilities, all significantly higher, not to mention that chemical costs have risen significantly too. At 38 cents per minute I cannot get my head...

    Wash Bay pricing

Most places are $1 / 1min (or very close to that level). We actually have two starting prices, our first bay is a truck bay with higher 12' ceiling ($5/5Min), our other bays are $3/3:24. Our truck bay still gets more use than any of the other 5 so price and starting point does not seem to make...

Profile and center of the bay

I hear you. I help customers at the terminal when I am at the wash. Even with guidance to go down the middle of the bay they can get off center by a lot. I just wonder what other trouble they get into when driving on the shared roads. Seems to be a greater challenge with the profile than the...

Profile and center of the bay

I thought of a tape arrow on the front panel but then the drivers would not watch the pull forward/stop sign. No easy solution today, hope that WW figures out a sonar solution as the machine makes a nice 2D image of the vehicle on the first pass.
