Windows Scareware Fakes Impending Drive Disaster

Scammers are trying to trick Windows users into paying to fix bogus hard drive errors that have apparently erased important files, a researcher said today. Note: this is a nasty one folks - it comes from poisoned sites and hits you up for $80 to buy worthless utility...

    Opinions on Tokens Only

IMO I would give the customer every opportunity to give you his/her money. With a decent sorter, it isn't much of a problem separating them. If the bank screws you for bringing in "change", find a business that can use them and sell them to them.

    Quote of the Week

"A smart man makes a mistake, learns from it, and never makes that mistake again. But a wise man finds a smart man and learns from him how to avoid the mistake altogether."- Roy H. Williams "A smart man only believes half of what he hears; a wise man knows which half." - Jeff Cooper "Give me a...

    Cutting the cord.

That would be a cheaper option, if it would work with Magicjack, since its $20 a year, rather than $20 a month. I'll experiment.

    Trash pickers...

That is something that you need to think about. If you allow them on the property and or have them "do" something, then they could claim that you "hired" them. Then Labor & Industries among other agencies, could fine you, especially if he gets a cut that gets infected, or whatever. I...

    Let's get these b*st*rds

Now days, if you are going to leave the country, you do need to let your credit card company know about it. Also, be aware that most credit card companies, now charge a 3% foreign transaction fee on top of everything else, Debit cards can charge 1-3% foreign fees. I found a Capital One card...

    Cutting the cord.

Big, are you saying that all one would have to do is wire your alarm system into your Voip (Magicjack) phone line and it would work as long as you had internet?

    My New Customer Service Example

What impresses me is when you enter a store, and you ask the employee, where is "X", they stop what they are doing and take you there. Those companies will always make it.

    Cutting the cord.

This tread also made me think about dropping the land line. I had dropped my line two a couple of years ago, switching it to my cell phone. I called my alarm company to see how much a cellular response unit would cost. It would be $150 plus tax, and an additional $7 a month. So it takes me 8...
