    Swirl marks

Rph: "Most of the single stage painted vehicles today are on the high end - mostly foreign models. There are almost no domestic vehicles that are single stage paint jobs." He's from Australia. Probably a fair amount of foreign cars there. "If you apply some of the better sealants and super...

Don't worry Obama will come to the rescue in the election year. Obama will probably announce that he will stop immediately all Fed. funding for all projects in Ca. until this situation is resolved. LOL

    High Eff. Boiler--Elim. middle man.

Thanks Paul. I have my original 35 yrs. old 1.1 million btu boiler for my wash water that needs to be replaced this spring. I've been looking at the tankless water heaters or a boiler under 200,000 btu's. If I have under 200,000 btu's it does not get inspected by the county which cost $75-100...

    Swirl marks

RPH I agree if the detail is bad the car needs to be re waxed. But if he does not have a consisted flow of lubricated soap going to his brushes that too can cause swirl marks.

    Kleen-View Vendor

My next one at another wash was a Shurvend and I wouldn't buy anything else. Have not had one problem with it in 3 years.

Make sure that you have a lubricated soap (not as a presoak) going to all your brushes. I don't know about your soap (presoak) you're using but make sure it is not stripping the wax/clearcoat before the car gets to your brush units. Ask your distributor for ideas too.

    Kleen-View Vendor

It looks/similiar like my Mega Vend. My and my customers complaint is that several items that get vended end up lodged against the window and shelving. Even if I trim items such as Just for Leather, Rain-X, etc. they still sometimes jam somehow. Also items such as Armorall, window, Black Ice...

    Tire Valve Breaking

I've had customers hit the collator hard enough to break the stem even when the stem was not extended.

    Tire Valve Breaking

Earl could it have hit the correlator entering or the end of the rail exiting? I had one customer turn their wheel at the end of the exit, don't know why they did, but it caught the valve.

    Customer Claims Damage

No, but in essence they did since we both have the same insurance company. They did not charge my account. But when his insurance agent wanted to send an adjuster to the wash my agent said it was not necessary since the insurance company had already sent one and deemed it was not the car wash...

    Customer Claims Damage

John you're right about not calling the insurance company. Asked him to show me where this so called damage had occurred in the wash(actually walked the tunnel, which I normally do not do with customers) and then looked at the other cars on the lot (9) with him and saw no damage at all. He still...

    Customer Claims Damage

Update: Received a letter claiming damages from their insurance company in the amount of $3,700. WTF did they paint the entire car? I had already called my insurance company, which by the way is the same company that they have, which I did not know at the time. The adjuster for the insurance...

    How cold is too cold?

Jeff that's amazing. Where we're at if it was -20 degrees I might not see 330 cars on the road in front of our wash all day.

    How cold is too cold?

And how many cars did you wash that day?

Go back to those washes you are so excited about on a cloudy or rainy day and see if you get so excited then. This is not an easy business.

    white chunky medium in lines

I agree with Bill. Had a very similar problem. Late one night I drained all my chemical tanks and lines. Cleaned everything in the tanks with bleach. Cleaned lines with solvent. Then I turned my boiler heat up, filled the tanks with super hot water and bleach. Turned on all the bays for at...
