    Buyer's & Builder's BEWARE!!

Why don't you take all your info. to a lawyer, explain what happened and see if you thay can go after both the dist. and the equipment co.'s involved since this guy is/was(?) their ditributor. If they think you have a strong case I bet they would take this on on a percentage basis. Even if they...

Setting up a weep recycle system

I was thinking of something similiar. Just not sure if it will work. Changing my gun holder angle, shooting it into a tank connected on the wall, then setting up a sump pump type system back into the boom.

Setting up a weep recycle system

I would like to set up a system to recycle my weep water but I can't figure out a way to do this since my washes were built years ago. One wash I have the gun waste water running into a pvc pipe then into the pits. The other wash has the water just running onto the floor. Has anyone designed a...

    Buyer's & Builder's BEWARE!!

Can you also go after the Mfg. Co's. that suggeted him? It seems to me that there should be some type of liability from them being there "representative/distributor" to make good on the contract, again as their representative.

How does a $3 Start sound? Too Much?

An operator at the Vegas show a couple of years ago told me the best thing he did instead of raising prices(he was 1.25 start) was convert changers to dollar coin/tokens. Most customers inserted $2.00 bills to get 2 coins. They would then insert both dollr coins in the bay acceptor instead of...

    photo cell's

At my washes I had both for years. The problem was when it wasn't to overcast and the lights would be on or the photo cell mallfunctioned and they stayed on day and night. Even when they worked (usually with the forcast of rain) I wasn't doing much. I finally disconnected the photo cells...

    convert auto bay to tunnel?

The thing that bothers me about the flat belt conveyor is it seems to be similiar to the people conveyors at airports. My problem is that in my travels I see quite a few not working in airports. These are only carrying people and they seem to be having problems. What happens to them when their...

    Is there money in mud?

2 yrs. ago I put up a sign between my first 2 bays that states: "All Mudders must use Bays 1 & 2 next to Automatic Car Wash." This has not totally eliminated the problem but has significantly reduced the mudders using the other 3 bays. At night I use to get 5-6 trucks at once and they would use...

    Is this deceptive advertising

I would just get your sign guy to print up some stickers for the signs stating "with a pre-paid purchase of 5 washes carwash price is ONLY $3.00 each wash" or something like that. Stick it on the bottom of the signs and forget about it. After that there will be know more complaints. Once done it...

    bay selectors with CC option.

I've had Washgear for 3 yrs. I put in both C.C. and bill acceptors in each bay. With the system I added Bonus Time. It's nice to have less quarters to haul around. Washgear is a Great system. 1-2 problems over the years and Jennifer walked me through and fixed them. But I would agree with Soapy...

cc vs shampoo/vac investment for 4 bay wash

I put the carpet shampoo/vacs on the perimeter of the entrance and exit keeping the entrance to the bays open. The site is not the best, unusual lot size. So I didn't want to block the bays with people vacuuming. I had to build the bays at an angle to fit the wash (5+1). The customers actually...

cc vs shampoo/vac investment for 4 bay wash

Hoyeman I did both 3 yrs. ago. If I had to make a choice I would do the credit card machines first. They might not be as profitable at first but you're customer will love them. How many shampoo/vacs are you looking to buy? Why don't you buy 1-2 shampoo/vacs and the c.c. in the bays.

    Methanol Foam Brush Soap

Just added 17 gals. of -25 windshield washer fluid and 2 gals. of b.b. soap to a 20 gal. container. Using no tip in the hydrominder. I put in 2 gals. in the main tanks. Praying it doesn't freeze tonight(low 30's) or tomorrow night (20's).

Please HELP new IBA owner with low revenue & high traffic counts

I would take down the canopy and vacs. Replace the vacs with a central vac system with free vacs (looks like you could put 4-5 vac drops against the building). I believe this is a best idea but if you don't want to spend to much money then see if you can vend out a token for your existing...

Please HELP new IBA owner with low revenue & high traffic counts

Your purchase timing of year was a tough time to buy a wash. I don't know about your area but in my area summer/fall is not all that great. Try wrapping a couple of large neon bands around the top of the wash (to bring attention to your wash). Offer a reduced price after 6:00 p.m. till 7:00...
