Almost every security system that dials ADT or another service can be programmed to call any number. I have one installed by my local security company and is monitored by someone else. If I choose to discontinue the monitoring service, I can program it to call my cell phone.

That calculator is funny. Monthly lamping cost $23 for flourescents. Compared to $0 for the LED. I will personally guarantee you that 11.4 years worth of CREE LED's cost more than 11.4 years worth of the T5's I am using. Even at 3.7 years of life each, that would be 3 x $3.50 for my bulbs...

I replaced all of my 400w bulbs which were in 250w wallpacks. I replaced them all with T5HO bulbs. A T5 high output is a 54w bulb about the diameter of a pencil in varying lengths. I got the fixtures with 2 4' bulbs. Each one is brighter than my 250w wallpack with 400w bulbs. I don't know...

$68 for a 4 foot bulb seems a little pricey to me. Does anyone use T8's at their wash?

I can't say enough how please I am with the T5 HO's. It was more work than just changing the bulbs, but it took me about an hour a fixture after I figured out how including pulling wire and changing conduit.
