    Free Vacuums VS Pay Vacuums

I'm 99% sure I'm going to try free vacuums. We're in an affluent area where I believe that abuse and negligence would be minimal. I'm thinking about using a push bottom to (somehow) pulse the timer with a relay timer somewhere wired in to interrupt the duration at say 10 minutes - hopefully...

    Pit Cleaning??

I’ve heard people that have switched from a clamshell to a vac type tell me they regret the switch. The guy I bought my clam from said the same...

    Pit Cleaning??

I have a Ring-O-Matic clam shell digger. I couldn't imagine doing the job without one, but at $150/pit....I personally would pay the company to do it. You have to factor in the cost of the machine, time required to actually clean pits and bays when done, and then the time required to take the...

Has anyone offered FREE VACS at a self serve location?

On the auto side, higher...but that average wasn't accurate if we factor in the SS customer. No bonus time, dualers, superbly or blowers. The problem I have with the blowers, and I've considered them, is my towel station which my costumers love. Maybe I need to implement all these and see...

Has anyone offered FREE VACS at a self serve location?

I have a 4/2 that does pretty good other than my vacs. I have 5 combo vacs and they generate a paltry $70 a week combined. I'm at $1/4mins. Been thinking for some time about offering them free to draw more customers to the wash. Especially the autos. I have 2 locations within 4 miles of me...

    Free Vacuums VS Pay Vacuums

Thanks for the pics! I think I have more to gain from giving away the free vacs than I do with the measly $20/vac/week. I was thinking, if it would be possible, to set the vacs to 1 pulse = $1. $1=4mins. Then I would just install waterproof buttons on the front with some decals.

    Free Vacuums VS Pay Vacuums

I was just going to post a topic about exactly that. I have 5 combo vacs that generate ....about $200 total every 2 weeks. Been thinking about have free vacs. How would I set that up? Thanks

    Pressure tips ??? pressure problems

I use these too. I have a love/hate relationship with them tho. They're hard, so the last a long time. BUT...at least from my experience, since we have a decent amount of mud, people use them as implements to pry off caked/dry mud.

    Pressure tips ??? pressure problems

I liked my 3207's for a long time. Recently I had to replace a gun ( I keep complete assy's ready to go) that had a 2507. I'm switching all the guns over to the 2507

Modifying SS Bay to allow RVs and small trucks/buses

Maybe we're an outlier, but I've noticed the exact opposite. I get a decent amount of RV washers at my wash and they spend. I'd get more if the previous owners designed the building to have an easier exit from the bay for those with long Class A's and 5th Wheels. I've also notice that the one...

    Replacement Guide Rails

Look into Hilti epoxies. They do have a anchor/epoxy system as well as just a sole epoxy. I'd be nervous about drilling. If they went light on your slab you could be looking at 3-3.5" . With a 3/4" tube in there...you just might hit the lottery.

Have some extra space - considering rug washer, ATM, soda machine, or air machine.

Maybe a pay phone! But seriously, cash use in the USA is declining at a rate of 6-8% a year. As of 2015 it only represented 32% in transactional use. My wash is less than 20%. Something to consider.

    overhead foam brush booms

I have OH booms for my FB and wax gun. Other than the occasional leak from one of the Parker Press fit fittings, I have no problem with them.

Recent Renovation of a Self Service Location

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder....but they must be a real PITA to clean! I would think the porousness of the bricks and mortar would make it a chore and a half. Unless it's sealed?
