    Penny wise or???

True enough. That's why I try to have a universal size for Air, and water solenoids as well as pressure regulaters, Timers, flashers and coin acceptors. Keep a couple of spares of each on hand. My DRB relay boxes contain spare relays as well.

    Penny wise or???

We know water conservation is an issue. Some ideas: Controllers like DRB have a “Flash” option for functions. Is Flash / Pulse for the water feeds to the cloth smart or dumb? Example: Better to pulse 3 #10 Nozzles or steady stream of 3 #05 Nozzles? How many and what size nozzles or rain...

    Custom Bubbler

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJ8z5Klq2W4 Custom Bubbler V1. Having seen bubblizer / Lava arches from NS and AVW, I decided to try and make my own. From what I know of their units I have made some changes to mine. 1. There is no float valve in the unit. The flo jet simply starts with the...

    Sonny's noisy mitter experience.

FWIW apparently Sonny's monitors this board. Anthony A tracked me down and offered some suggestions like starting the mitter later and trying the microclean plus a new material they have in the works which is scheduled to debut at the ICA show.

Conveyor rollers that get past the customer

It may be partly that, but to an extent it is unavoidable. If you have a roller behind the front whell pulling and one or more safety rollers behind the rear tire, some cars will lose th roller under the front wheel due to underinflated tires, misalignment, driver error, dragging brakes etc...

    Foam the soap or not.

Therein lies the issue. The question must not have been clear. We all seem to agree that for flushing & lubrication the material be it filament, cloth of some type or foam needs to be flushed with a slippery liquid. There also seems to be a consensus that too much foam on the car may be...

    Foam the soap or not.

We all know it's important to apply soapy water to wash material for lubrication and cleaning. Foaming the initial application is great for show. Many setups seem to have foamers further down the tunnel applying more foam before some equipment like wraps. Also good for show. With a sit...

    Intermittent Timer/Power Problem

Simplest idea is swap with timer from another bay. See if problem follows the timer or stays with the bay and go from there.

How to build a vacuum bay

Funny you should ask. Never an issue with a Vac Island. I guess the surface area is reelatively large compared to the weight. But I just had to straighten a Coleman Vendor Island tht's only about 18" wide by 8ft long and 4 Feet high. I think the lean may have started with it being hit.

How to build a vacuum bay

Have made numerous islands using plywood forms and block / concrete or Sonotubes. IMNSHO the most attractive Islands are Stainless steel or aluminum. Pricey but little maintenance to keep looking great. Never use foundations. No longer run conduit under and up into forms. Too many times someone...

    Which Style Tire Brush?

    1. If I had to guesstimate I would say less than 1% fo the vehicles in Chicagoland have whitewalls so whether or not it gets white walls clean is not a consideration. 2. I have tried the poodle and the wheel wonder from Erie. Nte that some unit modifications needed to be made to accommodate the...

    Measured Tunnel and Equipment

Don't know what this means "61ft- single arch housing 5 blowers, i believe have 10"wheels angled inward toward wash tunnel." 10" wheels? I don't know that you need to do anything major. 10 ft is a little short on drip space but not much you can do. Drip space is as much a factor of time...

    Autobase conveyor car wash equipment

I don't think the country is as important as having custom specs that may be difficult to source. Sherman was probably all from UA but you still couldn't get the stuff anywhere else.
