    Need a change

What I am trying to decide on is a new price point. I am tired a watching people use the weep spray, then the brush with no soap and then pop in a quarter or two to rinse and spotfree. I really am want to get rid of the less attractive customers who spend less than a dollar and cost me labor...

    Need a change

I've debated making some changes for a few months, and after cleaning up mud for three hours this evening I have decided to do something. I know I can't explain all the details of my wash, but it is a 6 bay SS with 3 JEAdams vacs, 3 Coleman combo vacs, 3 column drop vendor, dual changer, and...

    Changer Problem

I posted this in the wrong spot. Sorry. I have an American Changer. The hopper is a Universal Hopper. Last week it started having a problem. Whenever a bill is inserted, and the hopper starts to dispense quarters it sounds as if the motor is turning constantly and makes a loud humming noise...

    Coin Hopper Problem

I have an American Changer. The hopper is a Universal Hopper. Last week it started having a problem. Whenever a bill is inserted, and the hopper starts to dispense quarters it sounds as if the motor is turning constantly and makes a loud humming noise. It runs for about a minute and then...

RO Unit Shutting Off Due To Low H2O psi

What type of unit? Some are built into the lines, others have a poly tube from a line to the switch. Once you find the switch, you should be able to jumper the wires.

RO Unit Shutting Off Due To Low H2O psi

The one thing I've learned about new plumbing is it is full of junk and when you first turn the system "on', trash will collect in everything. Have you checked/changed the "monthly" filter? If i recall, you just opened that IBA. If your system is like mine the filter is before the pressure...

Customer Hits Carwash, wants Waxman to Pay

I showed up at my wash one morning to find one of the vacuum canopies had been hit and knocked over. It was hit with enough force, that the canopy knocked a vacuum off the base. I have a sign that shows my contact info with 4" numbers directly in front of the vac canopy. The guy had to of...

    RO Reclaim of Reject Water

I have read thru the older posts and can not find any info regarding the use of RO reject water with chemicals. I am thinking of plumbing it into some of the soaps. This is for a tunnel application. I have heard agruements for both sides from various people here locally, just wanted to know...

    Vender bingo

Well if you want it to be random and a surprise, then I say put it on the back of the item so the customer doesnt know before they purchase the item. If the customer knows the odds also, they be more inclined to purchase a 2nd or 3rd item. For example, they want need a towel, then they may...

    Adding Rain-X

If you are adding this to your self serve bay, I put the RainX on the next to last step, directly before the spot free rinse. It took the place of the HP wax. I also converted it to low pressure. It has a better show and smell this way, and I understand it works better.

    Thoughts on this added service?

$3.95 seems inexpensive to me. What does the employee make per hour. How long would it take to do this service? What is the cost of the tire shine chemical and fragrance? If you pay someone $8 an hour and it takes him 20 minutes per sevice most of the cost is taken up in labor. Then there...

What small town around san antonio are you in? Are you building this wash or do you already own this wash? Small town people tend to like face to face interaction.

    Canopy needed!

I hate throwing this idea out there, but I had this conversation yesterday with someone who suggested contacting local car dealers who have gone out of business. A lot of local dealers here have shut their doors and have really nice canopies on there lots. Not sure what would be involved in...

    RainX thru a Foam Gun

Also need to add that I had to add air to it to get a good show(foamy but runny) and that if I can ever get my signage redone, I will be adding the RainX logo to my signage.

    RainX thru a Foam Gun

I run RainX in my self serve thru the HP gun. The old clearcoat wax was HP, but I wanted the RainX low pressure so it had the look and smell like our tunnel applications. I had to rewire the meter box switches, replumb the manifolds over each bay and mount a FloJet and regulator to the...

    Dilling & Harris

Please dont see this as an attempt to defend D&H, as they are still on my list of cautionary vendors, but about six weeks ago I ordered a VendMaster from them. I dealt with Josh, yes he is a real person. He was polite and worked many different quotes for me in a timely fashion. They returned...
