This is why I set my wash up to not accept quarters from day 1. I never have to sort/count quarters, and it makes my customers think in dollar increments instead of quarter increments.
Now don't get me started on counting/sorting/strapping cash and depositing it at the bank. The bank tellers...
You're a couple years too late. The bottom has fallen out of the industry. Loans are very difficult to obtain and very expensive if you can. Many areas of the country have been over-saturated with express washes. FL is one of them.
It's very difficult for newbs now.
I draw the line at stuff that doesn't go down the drain.
Mud goes down into the pits, so I don't kick the off-roaders out, even though I don't enjoy their patronage.
Users I don't allow:
contractors that spray out construction debris like wood scraps, nails, drywall pieces, etc...
landscapers...
I have combo site with both a tunnel and SS bays located at the same site. There are always people that want to DIY for whatever their reason. Plus not every vehicle will fit down a tunnel.
I do not think the SS model is going extinct, but I will say I do not see new ones being built...
As I said in my previous post, plenty of washes are successful at 25k traffic count. However, I would venture to say that most of them were built several years ago for 50% of what new builds cost today. And I would be nervous about building a $7M site with only 25kcpd. But that's just me...
Hmmm. 25k traffic count is a little low for an expensive build. Plenty of washes are successful with that kind of traffic count, but I don't know how comfortable I would feel building a $5M - $6M wash with only 25k cars in front of me.
As for some costs, a 90' tunnel will run about $1M. Also...
I'll help you. I've built several tunnels in the 90' range. Working on an 85' tunnel right now.
With tunnels, longer is always better, but 90' is about the minimum to handle decent volume. Shorter than that, and compromises have to be made.
Reusing and modifying an existing building can...
Stuck valves maybe?
You shouldn't have any function firing before the eyes are broken, even mandatory functions.
If your wash is new, then call your installer.
Slick video, good presentation and very cool tech... but, I think it's too much tech most customers. It's a self-serve car wash; not a fancy gym. Most customers just want to feed in a few bucks, and go. Most of my customers would have no clue how to download an app and join a club.
