Thanks was beginning to think it was only me .Nope, after 13 years it's still a daily chore!
PERFECT ANSWERIt's like the movie groundhog day in the carwash business: Clean up a mess. Find something broke (because something is somewhere) and fix it. Then clean up another mess. Then fix something else. Then clean up again.Every day.
I would image most career paths can loose their luster (pun intended) over several decades of involvement.I know several operators that sold their washes because of the monotony. Gotta admit that I enjoyed the business much more in the 90's and 2000s because I was busy buying or building and got to play with nice shiny new equipment and learn new things. Once I quit doing that the monotony set in. Having said that, the business has been great to me and I'd be a fool to change careers at this point.
lol yup to funny I’ve been called Easy Money and every time I here that I think they have no idea what’s involved lolAnd the funny thing is that customers often think we sit back counting quarters all day. Although when we stop laughing at their joke they do appreciate all the work put into the place as many remember the pit of a wash prior to my ownership (which is satisfying).
