To clarify, we still have most of the parts for these units. What we don't have is the parts to rebuild the pumps.
Now how long we still have some of the parts is anyone's guess. We haven't built on of those in over 15 years.
Could just be the overload is starting to go bad. We all have to come to grips with stuff not lasting like it used to. The days of getting decades out of things are done.
It's not less work, just different. Yeah, there may be some weeks where you may only be there a couple hours a day but there will be weeks where you never leave. You MUST have someone on site daily, at least. You also need to be passable with electrical, plumbing, controls, etc or every bit of...
I have several people on this board alone that will testify to the fact I am never opposed to taking someone's money. I'm a proud filthy capitalist pig.
Many times the lipstick is the most inexpensive and effective upgrades. Consumers want pretty.
When was the last time you changed the decals on your vacs and meterboxes
What does the building look like? How about the lot?
Are you still using incandescent, fluorescent, or metal halide lighting...
The 1034 timer is the main brain that runs the car wash bay. Dixmor LED6 is a far superior product. It allows you to do count up with your credit card system. There doesn't appear to be one in the quote you posted. Credit card is a must.
The XE validator is the bill acceptor in your change...
Brushes are fine to replace if you're willing to do the periodic inspection of them. If you let them go until they are "gone" you've most likely damaged the motor itself and then there is no point in changing the brushes. I have customers in both camps. Some don't mind having to periodically...
The lexan covers came with the entire enclosure and that's one of the things we can no longer get. I've had some customers have some success with using headlight restorer kits on them.
As a short term improvement you can change the red lens. They are part number 74117 and I think a pack of 5 is less than $10.
When yours were install that was a clean look but it makes necessary upgrades to bigger, better meter boxes more work.
There is not a drop in replacement for the GS31. Several components we used to build those went obsolete several years ago and because of the very low volume of those we were selling we opted not to invest the R&D dollars into designing a replacement. To be blunt, the display in the bay/timer in...
They may have located some aftermarket parts or they scooped up some on the secondary markets. That's their niche. We just couldn't justify the engineering expense for a product that we haven't built for PDQ in 20 years.
Again, I really don't feel comfortable discussing any specific instance I was not directly involved in....especially on a public forum. But I do apologize. I've been know to royally screw some things up myself so I know it happens. If you do need assistance, please feel free to reach out to me.
First, hire a good lawyer that is familiar with the local codes where you are looking to set up. In New York or New Jersey, they will also need to be adept at knowing which local authorities need to be......ahem.......satisfied and what that will take.
